"Yang perlu diingat, dalam debat yakni masuk akal bila salah satu akseptor berusaha menyudutkan lawan demi kemenangan. Yang penting jangan hingga terbawa emosi dengan ucapan atau sikap selama debat," ujar psikolog yang biasa dipanggil Cia ini pada detikHealth.

1. Posisikan diri sebagai penonton

Posisi ini memungkinkan untuk sekadar menikmati jalannya debat atau diskusi, tanpa terlihat terlalu membela atau menyudutkan salah satu peserta. Posisi sebagai penonton juga berpeluang melihat kekurangan dan kelebihan pada akseptor debat.

2. Nonton sendiri

Tips ini tidak perlu diartikan menonton sendiri secara fisik. Cia menjelaskan, nonton debat sebaiknya jangan bersama orang-orang yang gampang memprovokasi. Hal ini memudahkan pengendalian emosi, serta menilai visi dan misi akseptor debat dengan lebih objektif.



3. Jangan sambil melihat media sosial

Menurut Cia, emosi dapat saja terpancing dikala melihat meme atau membaca unggahan di media sosial. Tentunya, risiko ini tidak berlaku bagi yang emosinya tidak gampang terpancing atau justru terhibur dengan meme yang ada.

4. Ganti tayangan

Jangan ragu mengganti debat dengan tayangan lain terutama bila emosi telah terpancing. Mengganti tayangan dapat membantu menenangkan diri sebelum kembali menonton debat. Bila cara ini tidak membantu kembali tenang, sebaiknya nonton debat dilakukan dengan cara lain dapat menyaksikan di internet atau membaca ulasannya.
